Lindsay Pennington

Lindsay Pennington is a seasoned professional in the field of business development and non profit management. With 15 years of experience in assisting maritime industries access resources as Executive Director of the Port of Wilmington Maritime Society and two years with the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation as the Program Manager, Lindsay is known for her ability as a “people connector” in the community. She previously administered the Port’s educational scholarship program and brought in expert speakers to drive the narrative on relevant land and sea events.  Lindsay is known for her attention to detail in event management, coordinating arrivals of special visitors and organizing the Annual State of the Port Dinner and Award presentations. Lindsay also has experience as a food safety professional as the former Quality Control Manager for GT USA Wilmington, she implemented the first ever food safety certification for the Port of Wilmington in 2020, building and innovating the new program from the ground up.

Lindsay served many years as a committee member for the Delaware Maritime Hall of Fame, was awarded the Newark Town and Gown Community Service Award, is the Secretary of the Jamaican Heritage and Cultural Museum, and the Vice President of the Wilmington Empowerment BNI Chapter. Lindsay is a graduate of University of Delaware and now lives in Landenberg, PA at her family’s horse farm. She is an avid lover of books, volunteers as a coach for her son and daughter’s cross country team, and loves Disney trips with her family.
